When I got these my first impression was that maybe I had finaly found the boot I wanted. I have broken one ankle twice and bones in the top of the other foot. (college footall) So I was looking for a lot of ankle support plus a stroke left me with some balance problems, so I needed a broad, ridged platform with lots of traction. I wore them around the house for a few days so shoebuy could re-sell them if they didn't work. Finally I just called customer service and said these feel Ok on a rug but you need to get them muddy to know if they will be right for you. He told me to go ahead and take them on a 5 mile hike in the woods doing what I wanted them for, if they weren't OK he would take them back for a full refund, including shipping. So my dog and I set off on our favorite trail only to incounter winter deadfall we were not equipt for. So we went wading. I took these a little over the gussets and in deep mud for several miles. NO LEAKS, NO SLIPS, traction to make a mountain goat look twice. And of course I'm not sending them back. I've bought here before, and it is the first place I go to see if the've got what I'm looking. You have absolutey nothing to lose. You have the opportunity to look for exactly what you're after at, an a price you can't beat. And what I like is: no high pressure shoe salesman trying to sell something more expensive that you don't even want or need.
Wears this shoe: Hiking, or just walking in the rain. The're to comfortable to limit them.
